Feature Story: Rape Victim Out of Hospital

This is an article that caught my eye the most recently when I was flipping through the newspaper, a sad story about a secondary school student from Petaling Jaya. She was raped not once, not twice but several times in her school. Not only that, a 4cm-long pencil was inserted into her private part as well and now she is out of the hospital. The authorities are thinking whether to send her back to the orphanage or be placed somewhere else for the time being to keep her safe from any harm. So far, there were only four people who had been questioned over this matter, adding that there will be another three more people to have their statements recorded. The poor young student had filed for a report on Monday saying that she was raped by a classmate during recess on Tuesday at her school at Rawang. Furthermore, she also complained that she felt pain when she urinated. The shocking news does not end there. Doctors at Selayang Hospital where she was treated said that she was a month pregnant and also took out the 4cm-long pencil out of her private part.


I have chosen this article because it has definitely caught my attention because news like this, it shows me that I should be more careful and also I was curious why men would want to do something like that to girls. Does putting a 4cm-long pencil into a girl's private part give them pleasure? A tragedy such as can happen anywhere or anytime and it has and is still happening, not only in Malaysia, but also in countries all over the world. It can happen to anyone, the person that rapes you might be your close friend or even a relative or anyone at all. It is definitely not this girl's fault because she could not have stopped it. Even if it was the way she talked, the way she looked or the way she dressed, it is not her fault because she will not be able to stop it from happening. Girls who get raped will soon later live in fear because they are scared that the same thing would happen again. There are many cases that I have found that involves men raping girls, by reading some of these articles, in my opinion it is more on torturing the girl as well and I find it very cruel. One of the cases that I have found was at Japan where this Japanese girl, her name was Junko, was raped and tortured for 44 days and the she was murdered. The awful things that was done to her includes the rapists beating her with metal rods and golf clubs, introduced foreign objects including a light bulb into her vagina, drink her own urine, inserted fireworks into her anus and set them off, cut her nipple with pliers, dropped dumbbells onto her stomach, and many more. This shows how men could be so heartless (link). Another case that I have found is in Johor where robbers that kidnapped a couple and raped the girl. They beat up her boyfriend, saying let them have fun otherwise they will kill her boyfriend. She did as she was told so that her boyfriend will be alright (link). Cases like this should not even be happening. It is just devastating to see that this is happening to girls. No girl deserves to be treated this way and to die from it. Men who are involved in this kind of behavior should be taught a lesson so that they would not repeat it again.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the authorities have not decided whether if she should return to the orphanage or be placed elsewhere temporarily because they want to make sure that she is protected. So far, only four people had been questioned about the matter and adding that three more would have their statements recorded. A poor young innocent secondary school girl gets raped and even had a 4cm-long pencil in her private part. This article shows that certain men would just do anything to get sex. What pleasure does men get when they put a 4cm-long pencil inside a girl's private part?  It is wrong, this girl is going to have fear in her heart for the rest of her life. I am a girl, therefore I know what it is like, news like this is happening all around the world.

Mother and Daughter Drown at Island

A holiday outing ended in tragedy in Kota Kinabalu for a Chinese woman and her daughter, aged 58 and 31 when they drowned while snorkeling in Pulau Sibuan. Both mother and daughter had joined an American couple on a boat to Pulau Sibuan at 8.30am. They had just arrived in Semporna and were only in the water for a few minutes before they were having problems and drowned at 9.30am. It was said by DSP Azim that one tourist saw them calling out for help and a boatman saw them struggling in the water. The mother were rescued immediately and was given first aid. On the way for medical assistance, the mother and daughter died. Full investigation is being carried out to find out whether there are any negligence involved in this case.

This kind of news is very devastating, two lives had been lost just like that. There are many news like this all around the world, it is just sad for a family to go through this pain. It is like one day, you are all laughing together and the next day, everything is gone with just a blinked of the eyes. This definitely shows that you have to not take anyone for granted. I feel really sorry for the people that have lost their family members or even friends like this, no one deserves it. It is a terrible tragedy and people would just have to move on and think about the happy times when they did spend together.

Abused Baby Dies After One Week in CPU

A three-month-old boy from Kuala Lumpur was believed to have been abused by his baby-sitter. Unfortunately, the baby died after being admitted to Hospital KL for a week. Initial reports showed that the baby's caused of death is internal bleeding. It was said by Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman that the baby was alone with the baby-sitter when he stopped breathing then the baby-sitter rushed him to the hospital before informing the baby's parents. The baby, who was treated at the intensive care unit, was pronounced dead at 2.45pm on Thursday. Shortly after the baby's death, the infant's mother filed for a police report over the matter.

This is so wrong. Who has the heart to even hurt a baby? I have heard of many news like this but I am still thinking to myself, how can people be so cruel? Even if the baby was giving the baby-sitter  a hard time, it was so wrong to abuse the baby. Babies are babies, they are the way they are. Other than the baby-sitter abusing the baby, maybe the baby-sitter was innocent, maybe the baby already had internal bleeding beforehand, it just so happened that the day the baby died, the baby-sitter was there with him or maybe the baby-sitter did abuse the baby but just to make her not look guilty, she took the baby to the hospital. Whatever it is, results are soon to be told.

Boy's RM8mil Gambling Losses

According to the article, a boy from Port Klang gambled since he was 16 years old, he was in trouble when his debt for gambling accumulated, amounting to about RM8mil by the time he was 19 years old because of betting over foreign football over the Internet. The boy, who was a millionaire’s son, had watched and followed his father’s footsteps, who is in fact a gambler himself. Klang Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Teh Kim Poo added that each time the boy was buried in debt, his father would bail him out. Over these three years, there have been several bail-outs. After the accumulated losses came up to RM8mil, the boy's father barred him from gambling and stopped his son from attending college and now the boy is working with him. Not only that, on several occassions, the boy would even lie to his father that he needed money for college fees but the truth is, he is using the money to pay the gambling agents. Sometimes when he could not settle the debt, the agents would send Ah Long to collect the money from his father.

Isn't it illegal for a boy who is 16 years old to gamble? It is the guardian's responsibility to sure that his son is brought up properly. It is good that his father would always help his son to get out of trouble, but bar him now after when his son's gambling debt is up to RM8mil? He should have stopped his son when he bailed him out the first time not now, it is too late now. In fact, his friends could have influenced him because there are many cybercafe that have this gambling sessions as well.

Girl Cries Raped - To Avoid Being Expelled

This article is about a private college student who is 18 years old from Kuala Lumpur who filed for a police report claiming that she was raped by a friend  just to avoid being expelled for being absent for classes, the 18 year old student filed for a report at 5pm on Saturday, she added that she was raped by her friend after she had followed him to his house in Taman Melawati last month. However, she then withdrew her report without any further explanation. Because of the sudden withdrawal, it made the police suspicious. Police later found out that she had made that report just to inform her college authorities that she had been traumatize due to the incident. The police is still investigating this incident until they find out what is really happening.

There were many excuses that I have given for skipping classes but never in my 19 years of life that I have ever made a report such as this just to get out of trouble, I do not know anyone who would make this kind of excuse until I read this article. To make it all worse, by dragging a friend down with you. It is like a saying 'If I am going down, you are coming down with me'. This shows that students will definitely do anything just to get out of trouble. Students should learn how to take responsibilities for their own actions.
