Feature Story: 73-Year-Old Woman Loses RM 155,000 to 'Lover'

A 73-year-old woman from Georgetown was swindled of RM155,000 in an Internet love scam by a Nigerian syndicate. She was in fact the latest victim of the syndicate and which had cheated 110 other women over the past two years and getting about RM 1.35mil. The victims included teachers, a lawyer and an engineer who were cheated of money from as little as RM 5,000. The Nigerians had posed as a handsome British men, courting their victims, who were all actually single Penang women, through online chats, and they also took the time to get to know those women to win over the women's hearts and trust, sometimes to the extent of proposing marriage, Penang deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm (I) Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said. After about two months of courting, the 'British men' conveyed their intention to send the women gifts in the form of laptop computers, mobile phones and cash in American currency. The women then received calls from a local woman pretending to be a Customs officer, telling them that the parcel had been held up for Customs checks. He also added that they told the victims that a penalty had to be paid and provided them with a bank accounts to pay the fine. After the victims had banked in the money, the 'British men' and parcels disappeared. It was said that the majority of the victims were aged between 20 to 50 and half of them were believed to be college and university students. The syndicate was busted last Friday when police arrested 11 Nigeriaan men and three local women in raids in two houses in Seberang Perai and Butterworth. Many things and money were found when the houses were raided, including two computer hard disks, two flash drives, six laptop computers, 36 mobile phones, RM849, US$1,546 (RM5,086), 1,000 (RM4.080) and 1,930 Nigerian nairas (RM41.45) were seized in the raids. The suspects are aged between 25 and 38, and some of the Nigerians are enrolled as students in institutions of higher education in Penang. SAC Tun Hisan said that from the documents that was found, they feel that there are more victims out there. He urged anyone who had been asked to deposit money in banks to come forward and assist police in investigations.

This kind of cases should not even be happening to women, not only in Malaysia but in countries all around the world. There are many cases that have been reported about online dating with one party just interested in wiping clean the other person's bank account or other such horrible incidents. In my opinion, women who can not find love in reality and as they get desperate to find one, they usually look for men in online dating. This case have reached a high point of popularity that virtually everyone has heard of but have not tried it. When it comes to searching for the ideal date that may eventually be the perfect partner for you, online dating has been considered one of the best moves. It's not always that romantic though, but there are still existing dating websites that could lure you to something bad without you realizing what you're getting into. There are many cases where couple who met in the internet have actually worked and now they are living happily with a family but also some can be scams. When I was in secondary school, when I was about 13 or 14 years old, I used to be a active user in the online dating, I used to talk to strangers that I did not know, but  of course I have never told them my personal details. I guess when I was young, I wanted to fit in and make a lot of new friends, but now I have realized that some of them might be scams but even though I have talked to many people from all around the world, I was young but I still could know whether this person is actually interested in something other than just making friends with me for example, my money or he might kidnap me or he is a raper. If I know that they are actually trying to cheat me I will definitely pull myself away from them, but these women that have been cheated so much money, do they not feel suspicious that so much money was asked from that man? Maybe she will say that she was in love with him but it is so obvious that there is actually a catch there. Cases was found from a online dating stories,  one of it was from a 33 year old divorced father of one. He and Sofiya had met online, he received an email from her through an internet dating site and they have been exchanging photos and e-mails to each other. After a while of them getting to know each other, Sofiya asked him for money to purchase an air ticket, with a total amount of $1,845 USD which he paid via Western Union. Then he received an urgent email request (from an internet cafe apparently) for $2,300 AUD to prove to the Embassy, her financial capacity to stay in Australia during the one month period. he did checked the immigration policy in Australia and we actually do have a requirement to pay security bond when application for visa is lodged in certain countries including Russia. He totally believed her and paid $2,350 AUD through Western Union and he waited for Sofiya for 3 hours at the airport with a bunch of flowers. Singapore Airlines later confirmed that Sofiya's original booking was canceled by a Russian agent and that she did not re-book her flights.(link) It is just sad that people can actually come up with a plan like that to cheat other people's money. Women and men should always be careful when they are actually using the online dating to meet people. They should always be aware of things and not falling into traps.

73-Year-Old Woman Loses RM 155,000 to 'Lover'

Women must be more careful when someone that you have never met before is asking for so much money. Women should never ever give out money to strangers or anyone else except someone who you trust and know.

Teen Pregnancies on the Rise With 111 Reported This Year

Teenage pregnancies are becoming a upsetting trend in the country based on the huge number of girls seeking help from the Welfare Department about their dilemma. As of April, the department has already seen 111 such cases. This number is a dramatic increase compared to the 131 cases throughout last year. In 2008, there were 107 teenage girls who got pregnant. They were placed at Taman Seri Puteri, a rehabilitation centre and shelter that provides training for youngsters, especially teenage girls who face social problems. The statistics provided by the Welfare Department are just the tip of the iceberg, according to MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Michael Chong. He said that many cases have gone unreported, talking about how Malaysian families viewed the problem with great shame. They become lost and some even run away from home and some threw away their new born babies. He added that some of the teenagers opted for illegal abortions when they found out that they were pregnant. That is why it is very difficult to collect such data and many of them do not think about the consequences of their action. He said that teenagers slept with their boyfriends because of the notion that they were in love and he will not go to the police if the young couple decides to get married because he said that  it is very sad to see a young man going to jail because of this and risk losing his future and he would go to the police if there  is a case of rape.

I was shocked to see that the increasing rate of pregnant teenage girls. These girls should actually take responsibilities for their own action and not by solving the problem by abortion. You have already made a mistake, do not make it worse by aborting. There are a lot more ways to actually solve this problem, for example, give the baby to those who are married and can not have babies so that the baby would actually live. They are so many movies that are out now about teenage pregnancies but teenagers are not going against it but they are getting influence by it so the movies definitely does not help to stop this disturbing trend. Other than that, there is a song about this, I hope that teenage girls would actually learn something from it.

Man Strangles One-Year-Old Son Because of Fortune Teller

Makkal Osai reported that a disabled man strangled his one-year-old son in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, after listening to a fortune teller’s advice that the boy would actually bring him bad luck. Vairamuthu whose age is not specified, who is paralysed in both legs, had a son, whose name is Inbatamilan, after six years of marriage. He consulted a fortune teller who said that Inbatamilan’s stars were not good and he could face problems because of him. Vairamuthu developed a hatred for his son and feared that what the fortune teller said would come true. On June 4, he strangled his son and disposed the body inside a sewage tank. The couple lodged a report at a police station on their missing son and Inbatamilan’s body was recovered on June 7. Police later discovered that Inbatamilan’s ring had been mortgaged and detained Vairamuthu for questioning.

To be honest, no one can actually blame him because he is a disabled man. He might or he does not know what he is doing but it is sad that just because of a fortune teller he would actually kill his own son because he fear that what the fortune teller said about his son, which is his stars were not good and he will face problems because of him, would come true. Fortune tellers these days can not be trusted because these days, people are just so desperate for money and just to get money, they would actually create stories saying that they are fortune tellers to cheat money.

Grandmother Charged for Trafficking Drugs in Bra

Last Thursday, a young grandmother from Kuala Terrengganu was charged in the magistrates’ court, for a drug trafficking offence that supposedly took place at the public toilet of the Majlis Bandaraya Kuala Terengganu (MBKT) bus station. Harini Che Soh, who is a 43 year old grandmother, from Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, who is a single mother with four children and a grandchild, was under arrest with 83gm of heroin at 6am at the bus station, was charged under Section 39B (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence if convicted. However, no plea was recorded when the charge was read before magistrate Wan Nor Aklima Wan Salleh. Aklima later set Aug 23, for the case to be heard and no bail was allowed. The same day, police detained Harini and another single mother, believed to be her colleague, aged 30, from Kuala Lumpur, during a raid at the bus station. Police then found 20 vials of heroine weighing 83gm hidden in her bra.

This is definitely not an example that we would want to set for the future generations. Maybe she did this to support her four children and also her grandchild, because by selling drugs, you can actually get a lot of money from it but there are so many other ways that can solve this problem, such as looking for a job, whether it is not a good one, but it can still put food on the table. She as a mother and a grandmother should know that doing this is wrong, what kind of example is she sending to them. She has to actually take responsibility for her own action because this kind of case can actually, if convicted, carries the mandatory death sentence. She has to clear things up so that she can still take care of her children.

Fathers Day Drowning - Victim's Body Found

Villagers from Kota Kinabalu have discovered the body of 48-year-old Jefintin James, who drowned when having a family picnic on Fathers Day Sunday. Tuaran fire station chief Rudy Mekii said the body was pulled out from the sea at about 6.50am yesterday, close to where the body of Jefintin’s 25-year-old son Ronny had been found. Jefintin and his son jumped into the sea after his daughters Ivy, who is 17 years old, and Debra and nephew Eron, who are both 16 years old got into trouble while swimming at Pantai Dalit, some 35km from here. The two men managed to get the teenagers to safety before they themselves were pulled in by the strong currents. Search parties consist of firemen, marine police and volunteers discovered Ronny’s body at about 2.15pm on Sunday near the beach area. The eight-member family from Kg Tambalungon in Tuaran went to the beach for a picnic to celebrate the special day.

When something tragic happens like this in your life, it will always be in your mind forever. The saying 'forget and move on' is very common among human beings nowadays, but you can always move on but you will never forget. In a case like this, the teenagers were very lucky that their father and son managed to get them to safety but unfortunately they themselves could not. This shows the love between  a family, they will do almost anything to keep their own family members safe regardless of keeping themselves safe. The teenagers will definitely always be grateful because their father and brother actually saved their lives. They will not look at Fathers Day as a happy day but they can always remember their father and also their brother for what they have done for them.

Feature Story: Conflicts in NS Camps a Result of Trainees' Cultural Differences

Cultural differences in Kuching among National Service (NS) trainees often lead to misunderstandings and fights at the various camps nationwide, said council chairman Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe. He added after seeing off about 250 trainees for the three-month stint at Serian, Bau and Sematan camps Saturday that they have carried studies concerning these and discovered that most of the problems arise due to trainees' background and they had trainees from states like Kelantan and Kedah who had never mixed with other races, so when they were posted to states like Sarawak, there were many ethic groups, misunderstandings occured because of cultural differences. Dr Tiki said there were also some "naughty" trainees who liked to disturb others and stole others' personal items like mobile phones. He said that he have reminded every camp commander to better monitor the trainees, so that there will be cases od misunderstandings, fights and thefts at NS camps. Dr Tiki also said the council would revise the NS programme and content to ensure these would be relevant to trainees, amid changes taking place in the country's social and political scenes.Redundant programmes will be taken off such as indoor activities doe board games, which be replaced wit outdoor games where everyone can participate. He added that it was important for trainees to be able to play and work as a team because NS was to promote unity among races and build up discipline and leadership.

I have been to National Service before when I was 17 years old in Sungkai, Perak. Without a doubt, I would go for it again, I had the best time there and I have made many friends from all over Malaysia. There were not many fights that went on in my camp, it was actually a very peaceful camp, everyone was very close. We had a lot of fun together, boys and girls. I was actually very lucky that no one stole anything from me. There was actually no complains that anything was stolen but there was one case where one girl had lost her money and her hand phone, so at night when it was time for a meeting, the girls was actually locked in the hall, and a 'bomoh' came and sprinkled rice on us that wasfilled with 'kunyit' so it was yellow. He said that, if the one whole had stole the girl's phone should give it back to her otherwise you will lose your memory tomorrow, and he begin to throw rice at us and everyone of us. It really did freak everyone out and when we were out all of us called our friends and family what they actually did to us. The next day, no one came forward with the stolen things. Other than that, yes, cultural differences is an issue in camps but cultural differences in my camp was not a very big deal, but there were still some, some will have gangs for example, a group which are all Chinese, all Malays and all Indians, it was actually very normal but when it was a important day, the would ask us to separate from each other to get the different culture feeling but in my opinion, in the camp, Malays always had the special treatment compared to Chinese and Indians. I actually enjoyed the activites that was provided, and so did everyone else. Even though they are always issues in cultural differences, at the end of the day, all of us would still be good friends, we would actually sit together at night and talk just about anything in the world. I also had bad experiences during my time in the camp, but overall it was no doubt one of the best times in my life.

Conflicts in NS Camps aa Result of Trainees' Cultural Differences

A lot of people have actually lost their personal belongings, such as mobile phones, mp3 and more because when they are from a rural area and then you meet someone from Kuala Lumpur, they would actually want those kind of things that only city people can afford, so they will actually steal it. It is wrong but it was just the way it was when I was in National Service. The trainees who steal should actually get kick out from the camp because they are the ones who are causing the troubles.

Teen Missing From Home For 10th This Year

Nur Fatihah who is still a teenager has gone missing from her home so many times this year that her family members have become a regular in police stations,
The tabloid reported that the 13-year-old girl was again missing from her home in Johor Baru for the 10th time this year. The teenager action in running away from home had caused her family members to frequently turn up at the local police station to file for reports and follow up on developments into her case.
Nur Fatihah, the fourth of five children, has gone missing so many times that personnel attached to nearby police stations have come to recognize her family members and are familiar with her case. Her mother Jamilah Salleh, who is 45 years old, said she would never give up looking for Nur Fatihah or filling reports because she is concern about her daughter’s safety and future. However, this time, the girl has been missing for three weeks which is in fact the longest she has disappeared.

This is a very odd news, why would she be missing so many times and for so long. Maybe she is not happy at home, even her parents do not realize how unhappy she is therefore she is just running away to get some attention from her parents. She is the fourth child out of five, it might be she is getting less attention than her siblings, I have notice that usually the eldest and the youngest have always because they pampered ones. I do have friends that actually run away from home because they are so unhappy and so jealous of their siblings. She has a boyfriend that she does not want anyone to know about, can be the reason why she is frequently running away or someone is actually forcing her to go out, a bad person, that if she does not, she would get beaten up or something.  Whatever the answer is, I think her parents should actually talk to her about what is going on in her life because once she is back, she might run away again.

Five in a Family Killed in a Crash Along Segamat-Kuantan Road

Five members of a family in Pekan were killed and three others badly injured in an accident between a vehicle and a trailer lorry at Km87 of Jalan Kuantan-Segamat on Thursday. Pekan police deputy chief DSP Amran Sidek said the dead were Roland Wee Seng Hock, who was 56 years old, he was a senior assistant of a secondary school in Muar, Johor, his son Joash Wee, who was 23 years old, two daughters Jasinth Wee, who was18 years old, and Jelyn Wee, who was 16 years old. The other was Seng Hock's mother-in-law Lim Kim Boon, who was 79 years old. Those injured were Seng Hock's wife, Chew Chin Loi, was is 54 years old, and their two other children, Jemima Wee, who is 17 years old, and Josiah Wee, who is 13 years old.
They have been sent to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan for treatment. The family, who is from Taman Mas Ria, Muar, was believed to have been on the way to Melaka in a Naza Ria MPV after having spent three days of the school holidays visiting a family friend in Kuantan when the accident occurred at 7.45am. The empty trailer lorry was travelling from Segamat to Kuantan, who was slightly injured had been detained. Seng Hock, his mother-in-law and two of his children died on the spot while Jasinth died during treatment at the Muadzam Shah Hospital due to a severe head injury.
This was the second bad accident in almost a fortnight on Jalan Kuantan-Segamat. On June 7, six people were killed in an accident about 10km away from the accident spot.

This is a devastating news about almost a whole family died on a road. It was lucky that three of the family members actually survived but unfortunately the other five died. It must be so hard for all of them to take. It happened so fast, they could not have done anything to stop it. I have actually found a group on Facebook for one of their sons, Joash Wee. Many people have joined the group, including me to actually pay our respects. He had many friends, I could see that but as everyone says, they have gone to a better place so we all should move on, it would be hard, but unfortunately we have to.

Sex Slave Rescued by Immigration Dept

An Indonesian woman who was in Georgetown was forced to have sex with hundreds of men by two Bangladeshis over the past two months, was rescued from a life of vice by the state Immigration Department.
Its enforcement chief Abdul Rahman Hassan said an Immigration team actually raided a house in Weld Quay at about 10pm on Tuesday and found the woman, in her 20s, without any valid travel documents locked in a room. The Bangladeshis as well did not have any documents were in the house when raided and were arrested. They have been remanded pending investigations and the woman has been sent to Penang Hospital for a check up. It  had learnt that the Bangladeshis who were in their 30s had approached their friends and offered the women to them for a price. She was required to have sex with several men everyday or else she would be beaten up.

This is just cruel what men can do to a woman and offering their friends as well to have sex with her. Luckily, the immigration team actually raided the house otherwise how long will see be there, it could have been a year she had to have sex several time every single day. In my opinion, I think those a Bangladeshis should be punish. Without their documents here, they should be sent back to where they are from and punish them there, better yet, they should be punished here and when it is done, sent them back. I have notice that, people that are not from Malaysia, they tend to cause a lot of trouble when they come here, therefore, those people from places like Bangladesh and all, when they come to look for a job here, they should be allowed to to prevent incidents like this to happen.

Drunk Man Splashes Acid on Wife

A housewife in Kuantan fled half-naked from her home after her drunken husband splashed acid on her, which burnt her clothes from the waist down. Not only that, the acid also burnt the lower part of her body while her husband suffered injuries to his stomach, chest and right hand. State CID officer Asst Supt Noor Asyikin Shamsuri said the victim’s sister actually went to see her at her house in Perumahan Pekerja Estet Kemasul, Mengkarak near Bera, at about 7pm on Tuesday. She was shocked to find her 22-year-old sister running out of the house half-nude. Police investigations revealed that the man who is 32 years old, was drunk at the time of the incident. The suspect was warded in the Temerloh Hospital while his wife, who was in critical condition, was warded at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan.

There are many cases like this in Malaysia, husbands who are drunk will do things such as, kick, beat, splashes acid and more. Most of the cases that drunk man do, they will not remember it the next day. It is sad when cases like this happen, because the wife is the victim and she can not do anything to stop her husband from hurting her, neither can anyone else that have actually went through this kind of cases. The victims are left with, in this case, burnt body, others are left with for example, broken bones, scars and more.

Feature Story: Man Gets 'High' on Panties

A medical assistant’s from Kuala Terengganu obssesion for used panties was revealed when police found hundreds of underwear hidden in a cabinet when they actually was searching for drugs at his house. The raid was at 2.45am yesterday at Kampung Rawai, Alor Limbat in Marang showed that he did not have any drugs but instead, police had found about 400 pairs of panties and 10 bras that the 39-year-old man had stolen from homes over the past year. A police source said that he has been stealing panties since his school days. He normally sniffs a panty for a day or two and then he keeps it. He also added that after he steal the panties it becomes part of his collection. He does not wear men's underware but he wears the stolen panties instead and he actually gets 'high' from sniffing panties. State narcotics chief Supt Roslan Abdul Wahid told a press conference that police also believed that the assistant, who is working for a government clinic in Marang, had stolen panties from patients during his previous stints at other hospitals and clinics in Dungun and Marang. Police officers were also taken back when they conducted a body search, the man was wearing one of the stolen panties. They added that the suspect, who is a hardcore drug user, is neither a transvestite nor he have previous record of sexual crimes. Supt Roslan added that the man, who is a bachelor and lives alone, revealed that he had had the fetish since his school days and had stolen thousands of panties in the last two decades. He said the man also had two previous cases under Section 51 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act for drug abuse and tested positive for drugs yesterday. Supt Roslan said another four people, including a woman, were detained in a another raid at Alor Limbat in Marang at 5.30am the same day. Police recovered 60 amphetamine-type pills from the four.

The man gets high when he sniffs woman's underwear? I have never heard news like this but the first time reading this news, I actually felt disgusted. He has been stealing women's underwear since he was still in school, but he still does it now when he is a grown man, a working man. It is just sickening. I have done some research on this sniffing panties case, and I found out that there are actually many people, men mostly, that actually sniffs panties to pleasure themselves. There is one case where a mother wrote to a advise on relationship web site saying that her 13 year old son have been stealing her panties to 'relieve' himself. He keeps it underneath his bed, so she finds it under his bed when maybe she is cleaning her room or her panties were missing so she wanted to know where her panties went and she found it there. She also said that she does not know what to do, or whether is it normal for a teenage boy to act this way. Not only she said that she does not know what to do, but all the others that were going through the same thing said the same thing. In my opinion, come to think about it, I think it is not normal for a teenage boy to do that, simply because maybe they are growing up and they need something to 'relieve' themselves therefore that is the only thing that they can find to do that? Maybe. They are growing so sooner or later they will learn that it is not right. (link) As a girl, I find it really disgusting. In this news case above, luckily he did not have any previous record of sexual crimes. He is definitely not guilty for sniffing those panties because there is no law in Malaysia that says a man can not sniff panties otherwise he is going to jail, but in my opinion, he should get arrested for the fact that he actually steal panties and also he is a hardcore drug user.

State narcotics chief Supt Roslan Abdul Wahid told a press conference that police believed that the assistant, who is working at a government clinic in Marang, had stolen panties from patients during his previous stints at other hospitals and clinics in Dungun and Marang and the police also found that the man was wearing one of the stolen panties when they conducted a body search. The suspect, who is hardcore drug user is neither a transvesitie nor have previous record of sexual crimes. The man, who is a bachelor and lives alone, revealed that he had had the fetish since his school days and had stolen thousands of panties in the last two decades and also had two previous cases under Section 51 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act for drug abuse and tested positive for drugs yesterday.

He gets 'high' by sniffing woman's panties? Really? I have never heard such news like this in my life. When I read this news, I actually felt disgusted. He had been stealing panties since he was still schooling and also now, when he is 39 year old, a working man. It is very odd but what he did is definitely not illegal, there is no such law in Malaysia that man can not get 'high' by sniffing panties, but he should get arrested for the fact that he stole and he is a hardcore drug user.

Special Squad to Find Girl, RHB Bank Hands out Leaflets of Her

A special squad in Mentakab will be set up to help to find a missing two-year-old Nisha Chandramohan. Lanchang assemblyman Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin, expressed his concern by urging the public, political parties, private sector and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to help find this missing girl. He said that he could feel the pain and suffering ofthe parents pining over their missing daughter who is actually suffering from epilepsy and needs daily medication after visiting the girl's parents, M.Chandramohan who is 24 years old and Wong Lai Lan who is 21 years old. Mohd Sharkar, who is also Pahang Information, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman, said a meeting would be held soon with several political parties, NGOs and the relevant authorities to find ways to locate Nisha. Wong, said she and her husband were having sleepless nights worrying about Nisha and her condition but were thankful to the RHB banking group for the help that they are giving to them. She also added that they missed Nisha badly and were worried about her as she had not been taking her medication for a week. Nisha had been taken out of the house by a relative who was suffering from mental illness on June 4. Moreover, RHB Banking Group has widened its distribution of leaflets of Nisha through its network of branches. 1,200 posters and leaflets with images of Nisha were distributed at public locations.

In my opinion, I think it is a good think that RHB bank is actually helping her parents to find her daughter, Nisha. It must be very hard for her parents to deal that their daughter is missing, and I think that the people from RHB bank can see that, they must have daughters of their own too. Not only that, it is already bad that the little girl is missing but their daughter is also suffering from epilepsy which is a condition where she will have seizures. I have posted this as one of my posts is to help to find this missing girl, Nisha. Those who have information can contact Wong at 016-932 3803. She lives at No 2, Jalan Bukit Bendera 20, Taman Bukit Bendera.

Single Mum and Two Daughters Killed in Blaze

A single mother and her two daughters from Kota Kinabalu were burnt to death at Kampung Lasau Minusod in the northern Kota Belud district, when fire swept through their wooden house. Lasumping Yatun who is a 46 year old single mother, was asleep on the upper floor with her daughters Penneysia and Jessica,15 years old and 4 years old respectively, when the fire broke out. Her son, Jerizal Jussine who is 20 years old, was sleeping in a bedroom on the ground floor at the time. Jerizal, an odd-job worker, woke up by the sounds of glass window panes cracking. He quickly ran out from the house and after hearing the screams of his mother and sisters, tried to run in to rescue them but was hampered by thick smoke. Jerizal added that the village folk and him tried to force open the iron grilles on the windows but they could not because of the intense heat. The Officer-in-charge of the Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Department Roger Samuel were alerted at about 4.30am and a fire-engine arrived at the scene 35 minutes later. Firemen managed to put out the blaze at about 5.30am. What had cause the fire is being investigated. Roger said that the bodies of the single mother and her two daughters were taken to the Kota Belud district hospital for a post-mortem.

It is just devastating to know that a single mother and her two daughters was burnt to death and no one could do anything about it. Not even the single mother's son. He and he villagers tried to run in to rescue but the heat was too intense. I guess news like this, no one could have done anything to save them, it was just God's plan. The son who survived must be so sad that he had lost his family and I am sure whoever who have ever lost their family members will know what he is going through now. What had cause the fire is still being investigated.

Couple Brutally Shot Dead at Condo Car Park

After work, a couple from Kuala Lumpur, who had just arrived at their condominium was brutally shot dead by two men. The couple who worked at a night club in the city, died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
The female driver who is 32 years old was unidentified had just parked in the basement car park of Palm Villa condominium in Taman Maluri, Cheras.
She had just turned off the engine when two men approached them at 3.30am yesterday. The suspects then shot them from close range before taking their jewelery and belongings. The male victim who was identified as KC Wong, 52, was found in the passenger’s seat. Residents alerted the police when they heard shots. When police arrived at the scene, the found two dead bodies in a pool of their blood in their Honda CRV said City deputy CID chief Asst Comm Khairi Arasa. He also added that police found 13 bullets adding that the victims had five gunshot wounds. Not only that, the closed-circuit television footage at the condominium showed the men lingering around the condominium, waiting for the victims and also showed that the two suspects escaped by climbing over the condominium's fence. Police are still investigating the case and the bodies were sent to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for a post-mortem.

There are many cases such as this that has happened in Malaysia. There were cases of getting shot, raping, snatching and more and the worse part is these kind of cases can most probably cause death. Therefore, people must be careful when they come back late. Make sure that there is a security guard there looking out for you but sometimes the security guards and the robbers might be planning it. It is always best to go in groups not alone, but in cases like these, the victims could not have done anything to safe themselves.

Stop Smoking, Teachers Told

Deputy Education Ministry Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said that teachers in Kuala Lumpur must be role models especially in front of students by not smoking otherwise actions would be taken against teachers if they are found smoking in school compound. He also added that the school compound is a non-smoking zone. No one can smoke within the school compound. Dr Wee was asked to comment on a statement by Deputy Health Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin on female pupils who smoked. Other than that, he added that the school authorities would ensure that no student smoked in the schools and that after school hours, parents should monitor the whereabouts of their children to mke sure that they stay away from bad influences. He urged parents to attend parent-teacher meetings.

In my opinion, it is a good idea to take actions on teachers who are smoking in school compound because teachers are usually role models for students, when students see their teachers smoke? What are they going to think. Sooner or later they would do the same because they will think that if his or her role model can smoke, they will think that it is alright to do so too. There are more female smokers compared to male smokers these days, because maybe to women, smoking is seductive but it shows false images of slimness, modernity, sophistication and sexual allure but these women should know that in reality, it actually causes disease and even death. Therefore, by taking action towards teachers who smoke in school compound is a way to stop students from smoking.

Feature Story: Student Dies After Kiosk Workers Refuse to Help

In Kuala Lumpur, a man was desperate to save a woman from her burning car did not work out as planned because the petrol attendants refused to lend him their fire extinguishers even after everything that he had said to them. The incident happened at 3.30am on Thursday involving the woman's Perodua Myvi, a Toyota Vios and a lorry on the flyover along Jalan Cheras near Jalan Loke Yew, caused the Myvi to catch fire. The earliest to arrive on the scene was Teo Chai Yong who  is 31 years old. After he had saw the accident, he called the emergency hotline operator, while he was on the phone, he heard frightened screams shouting "Tolong! Tolong! Help me!" from the woman who was in the Myvi. He saw sparks flew under her car. Teo quickly went to a 24-hour petrol station hopng that he could find a fire extinguisher to help the woman in the Myvi. As he ran up to the paying counter, he saw four fire extinguishers behind the glass door and a attendant was on the other side. He has asked the attendant to let him have the fire extinguisher and screamed what had happened to him. After he had said everything that was going on, about the woman who was pinned inside a burning car, the attendant just stared at him and he kept on saying that heis not allowed to open the door after hours. Teo grew desperate, so he offered to buy the fire extingguishers and even showed the attendant his identity card. Shortly after that, a second attendant showed up beside te first attendant and he told Teo if there was a fire, call the fire department. Teo was frustrated and he rushed back to the scene, only to see the car with the woman still inside was burning. He added tha he only could watch, she was still screaming but he could not do anything. Her screams grew more frantic before it had faded away. BH Petrol's managing director Tan Kim Thiam, expressed regret over the incident and he said that the staffs were concerned because robberies were common in those hours and he declined to comment any further.
The woman who was burned beyond recognition and her personal indentification documents were lost in the fire. City traffic police investigations chief Deputy Supt Abdullah Roning said that they believed she was a 27 year old college student from Sarawak. The driver of the Toyota Vios and his girlfriend were also seriously injured and were rushed to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving.

I heard about this tragic story when my mother and I were in the car, my mother told me this story and I noticed that her voice cracked, it showed that she was sad that a case like this had happened, she have always told me to be careful when I drove, so when her voice cracked, I can imagine that she was thinking as though as that girl was me. I went home and I went and read this article. It is just devastating that the man could not help her. He is a good man for trying but if the attendants had let him use the fire extinguishers, things would have been much different for the student. In my opinion, the attendant should have found out what was happening before he had made a conclusion to not give the fire extinguishers to him. I know that he was concerned but it would not have killed him to actually find out whether what this man was saying to him was true, because of that, a life had been lossed.

A nineteen-year-old girl from Johor Bharu who died after sustaining injuries to her head was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony.
the girl, Cheng Jun Wei, who is the niece of Johor Motorcycle and Scooter Trader Association chairman Datuk Chen Kim Hock was allegedly injured after a security guard open fired on three robbers who had used her as a human shield while they were trying to escape with stolen goods on Tuesday night. The victim’s funeral ceremony was held at the Tiong Hua Crematorium. Chen said that Jun Wei was a wonderful girl with good prospects and she is very bubbly. This is a sad story about a 19 year old girl, she was used as a human shield by the robbers and when the security guard wanted to shoot the robbers, unfortunately, it ended up right on her head, not the robbers. In my opinion, the security guard should have been more careful, obviously when they are using her as a shield, the bullet will end up on her. They should have waited for the right time to shoot or have like a second plan. Just like that, a soul had been loss. I feel sorry for her family. I can imagine the emotions that they are going through, I found her on face book, she is known as Bobo Cheng to her friends, she is a very gorgeous girl. There is also a face book page dedicated to her and has recorded more than 18,000 messages.

Robber Rapes Woman in Front of Hubby and Daughter

Four disreputable robbers from Tangkak not only took away cash and valuable belongings during  house break-in, but they also raped the owner's 50 year old wife in front of her husband and her teenage daughter. At Kampung Sengkak near Bukit Gambir, the robbers who are believed to be Indonesians, broke into the house at about 3.30am on Tuesday. The robbers, who were armed with parang, forced themselves into the house while the couple and four of their children were asleep. The robbers tied them before they ransacked the place, stealing RM 1300 and also jewelries worth RM 5000. Not only that, one of the robbers raped the woman, who is aged about 50 years old, in front of her husband and their teenage daughter. One of the robbers decided to force himself upon the woman, aged about 50, in front of her husband and their 13-year old daughter. Police rounded up 22 illegal immigrants in follow-up action and also they investigating those detained whether they are involved in the rape.

I can never imagine a man who raped the woman in front of her husband and daughter. It is so wrong. This is why, in my opinion, migrant workers should not be allowed to work in Malaysia. They are here just to find trouble. Every time there is a robbery, majority of those robberies are by them. Those workers who are working around housing areas, for example, renovating a house and more, they are always looking for houses to rob, they will know when the owner's are in and out of the house. There are many cases such as this happening in Malaysia, our houses must be properly locked and also we should be very careful. These robbers that were involved in this case and also in others should be arrested for even thinking of doing this sort of thing and what more raping while they are at it.

Cabbie Who Raped Passengers Nabbed

A taxi driver preyed on young female passengers, he would take them on joy rides before forcing them into his house in Taman Muda, Ampang and then he will rape them. So far, five girls have fallen victim to the man, he would keep records of each sexual assaults and had threaten the girls if they go to the police, it will be circulated. Two, however, filed for a police report while the other two decided not to. Upon investigations, the 45 year old suspect will change his registration plate number after every rape. This man had been doing this for years, one of the victim was his friend's daughter, who was raped last year and was constantly harrassed by him. The 15 year old could not tolerate his behavior therefore, she had told her sister about the rape, then last Saturday, they lodged a report. The police had tracked him down and have arrested him.

Girls have to be careful when they take the cab alone because not only the cab driver can cheat your money and what not, they can also rape you which is much worse than cheating money. Therefore, girls must not take cabs alone unless they are with friends or if they have no choice but to take a cab, always have a friend on the phone so that if anything goes wrong, the cab driver is going to a place where you do not recognize, you can immediately let your friend know. This is what I always do when I take a cab when I am alone.

Jogger Falls Victim to Credit Card-Swapping Syndicate

A tailor from Kuala Lumpur is shocked to find someone had entered her car and switched her credit cards with cards that belong to someone else. On Sunday, Ms Tong, who is 31 years old, from Subang Jaya, had left her car at Taman Tun Dr Ismail Mon’t Kiara park before going for a jog. After the jog, she came back and found that her car was unlocked. However, she was relieved to find her purse under the driver's seat where she had put it before she went for a jog. She thought that nothing had happen so she left. Later she received a call from her bank requesting her to verify some transactions that she had made. She was shocked when told that she had supposedly spent RM24,000, and she checked her purse, she found that her credit cards had been replaced with cards belonging to another person. According to MCA Public Services and Complaints department head Datuk Michael Chong, a syndicate target women that go for jogs and to fitness centers, he added that the syndicate members will not take any valuable belongings but exchange the owner's credit card with credit cards that are from the same bank.

Thieves are definitely getting smarter and smarter as each day goes by, who ever thought that they would actually exchange credit cards only and not take valuable belongings, this would make the owner not know that they have actually took their credit cards and replaced them with credit cards that belong to another person because the fact that their purses are actually there will make the owner think that nothing had happened. Therefore, we as victims have to be more careful and know that we should not leave our purses or anything valuable inside the car whether you are just going to buy something, for a jog and more.

Feature Story: Rape Victim Out of Hospital

This is an article that caught my eye the most recently when I was flipping through the newspaper, a sad story about a secondary school student from Petaling Jaya. She was raped not once, not twice but several times in her school. Not only that, a 4cm-long pencil was inserted into her private part as well and now she is out of the hospital. The authorities are thinking whether to send her back to the orphanage or be placed somewhere else for the time being to keep her safe from any harm. So far, there were only four people who had been questioned over this matter, adding that there will be another three more people to have their statements recorded. The poor young student had filed for a report on Monday saying that she was raped by a classmate during recess on Tuesday at her school at Rawang. Furthermore, she also complained that she felt pain when she urinated. The shocking news does not end there. Doctors at Selayang Hospital where she was treated said that she was a month pregnant and also took out the 4cm-long pencil out of her private part.

I have chosen this article because it has definitely caught my attention because news like this, it shows me that I should be more careful and also I was curious why men would want to do something like that to girls. Does putting a 4cm-long pencil into a girl's private part give them pleasure? A tragedy such as can happen anywhere or anytime and it has and is still happening, not only in Malaysia, but also in countries all over the world. It can happen to anyone, the person that rapes you might be your close friend or even a relative or anyone at all. It is definitely not this girl's fault because she could not have stopped it. Even if it was the way she talked, the way she looked or the way she dressed, it is not her fault because she will not be able to stop it from happening. Girls who get raped will soon later live in fear because they are scared that the same thing would happen again. There are many cases that I have found that involves men raping girls, by reading some of these articles, in my opinion it is more on torturing the girl as well and I find it very cruel. One of the cases that I have found was at Japan where this Japanese girl, her name was Junko, was raped and tortured for 44 days and the she was murdered. The awful things that was done to her includes the rapists beating her with metal rods and golf clubs, introduced foreign objects including a light bulb into her vagina, drink her own urine, inserted fireworks into her anus and set them off, cut her nipple with pliers, dropped dumbbells onto her stomach, and many more. This shows how men could be so heartless (link). Another case that I have found is in Johor where robbers that kidnapped a couple and raped the girl. They beat up her boyfriend, saying let them have fun otherwise they will kill her boyfriend. She did as she was told so that her boyfriend will be alright (link). Cases like this should not even be happening. It is just devastating to see that this is happening to girls. No girl deserves to be treated this way and to die from it. Men who are involved in this kind of behavior should be taught a lesson so that they would not repeat it again.

Rape Victim Out of Hospital

A devastating story about a secondary school student from Petaling Jaya who was raped, not only once, not twice but several times in her school and even had a 4cm-long pencil inserted into her private part which has already been discharged from the hospital. Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the authorities have not decided whether if she should return to the orphanage or be placed elsewhere temporarily because they want to make sure that she is protected. So far, only four people had been questioned about the matter and adding that three more would have their statements recorded. The secondary school student filed for a report on Monday saying that she was raped by a classmate during recess at her school in Rawang. Not only that, she also had complained that she felt pain whenever she urinated. The story gets worse, Doctors at Selayang Hospital found her to be a month pregnant and also the 4cm-long pencil was removed from her private part.

A poor young innocent secondary school girl gets raped and even had a 4cm-long pencil in her private part. This article shows that certain men would just do anything to get sex. What pleasure does men get when they put a 4cm-long pencil inside a girl's private part?  It is wrong, this girl is going to have fear in her heart for the rest of her life. I am a girl, therefore I know what it is like, news like this is happening all around the world.
